Class feedback
I have learned a good bit on writing in this class. i have learned on how to properly create an argument within my essays. it has also helped me improve my skill sin writing conclusions. My strengths as a writer is creating a strong introduction and finding information to backing it up. i think i need to work on stating my ideas and improving the flow of my essay so that i stay on task. as a student i believe that i should get a grade of a b. my writings i put effort into it but i could do better, i state many ideas in class and actively participate. finally my homework, i am not too great on that but i can still get it done once i find time and am in the mind set. i really cant learn if I'm forced to..
self reflection on first paragraph
What I did well:
Answer the question with very details information.
Flow from sentence to sentence
Strong idea and argument
Clear understanding.
What I need to work on:
Examples
Adding more details and proof
Working on the second paragraph.
Lesson out of feedback:
I will use this information on future essays by implementing them on my first paragraph. i realize that i should actually add some in text references to see the reader's reaction.
Grade at the time: b-

Actively Reading Harvard Journal
To read a long and somewhat boring article can be quite the hassle creating a constant need for distraction and the misunderstanding of the text being read. it is not often that a person will encounter a passage or an article that will interest them. I, for example are one of the many. To cope with this, i have a method that can cut down the reading time, while retaining the main facts.for one i read the table of contents if there is any. then I go to the beginning and end of the passage to find out the purpose of the article and the conclusion to find out why am i expected to read such a boring passage. Because i know the purpose of the passage i can now skim through each paragraph to find out the main details. this helped with reading the Harvard journal of Law and Technology by allowing the ease of understanding the purpose of understanding the article. Persoanlly, it did not serve too much use due to the fact that i was somewhat interested in understanding the deterrence and countermeasures of cyber security in any case however, it helped find important deatils that most people could have missed.

Essay Outline
Thesis:
Throughout human history, human kind has always used machinery to advance themselves and their societies. A machine is composed of several parts that each does their own work to accomplish a larger task at hand. Now although machinery has been considered a physical device, some people believe that these devices can grow and has the ability to influence societies. The idea of these “Growing machines” or as we know them as mega machines was emphasized by Lewis Mumford.
1) Lewis Mumford, a brilliant sociologist with many theories about humanity and its role on the earth and nature.
A) He began to question what a machine is and he concluded that humanity itself is a perfect example of a mega machine.
B) Conclusion was made possible by him relating machines to the modern times nuclear powers.
C) History that showed this sense of order was in World War 2.
2) During World War 2, there were several instances of where humanity began to play the role of a mega machine.
A) During Hitler’s rule, his fascist ruler ship created the first major mega machine in the 20th century.
B) Every man was a cog, a small part for a massive machine, especially in the German military.
C) Hitler created this massive machine, he was able to conquer almost every nation of Europe.
3) Mega machine manifesting itself can be seen in this time period both in the United States and Germany is their economic boom when they began their campaigns in the war.
A) Help of the private sector and their people to begin manufacturing weapons, vehicles, ships and artillery.
B) Business in any scenario has the goal to make money.
C) World in itself represented a broken machine.
D) Business men and officials required parts to fix this machine to reach their ultimate goal; they needed cogs for the machine.
E) War allowed them to build this machine, this economic war mega machine.
The outline personally as I look back does not full meet the standards what was discussed. It does not hold enough information as being it would have become too opinion based without enough facts. I did not want the essay or the outline to go in that direction without careful planning.

Questions:
1) Does the outline meet the criteria we discussed on the 12th? How? How not?
1) Does the outline meet the criteria we discussed on the 12th? How? How not?
2) Would it have been more helpful to make the outline before writing the first draft or after? Why?
It would have been much more helpful to design an outline before and during the creation of an essay. Personally i leave specific areas of my essay out of a first draft and first outline to create the backbone of my essay. later on after revisions i create a second outliner with more important deatils and the "meat" of the essay. this allows for a better flow of information.
